Redwood Music Teen Camp
A week-long overnight camp for musicians ages 12-18
Rehearsal in Helgesson Hall
June 16 - June 21, 2025
Monte Toyon Conference Center
220 Cloister Lane, Aptos, CA 95003
This unique residential program places teenage musicians (12-18) in a beautiful outdoor setting with professional musicians. Teens learn to play Celtic folk music, but more importantly, they spend a week with other teen musicians in a supportive environment, and with a strong sense of community. Students practice and perform in instrument-specific groups, in small bands, and with the entire camp. For players of fiddle, flute, penny whistle, recorder, clarinets, harp, autoharp, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, accordion, keyboards, percussion, Irish tenor banjo, and cello. Other activities include vocal training, Scottish dance, movie night, a barn dance, crafts, a talent show, and lots of jamming!
“[My kid] felt so empowered through the music and spending the week in the redwoods, feeling supported by staff and teachers, forming friendships she treasures…. Through Community Music School, she has truly found her people and gained musical confidence.”
“Teen camp is a great place to relax and spend time away from any outside events that may be dragging you down. We have a LOT of fun. It’s really cool to be able to sit down with other people your age and just jam. In a regular school you can’t find that. Also you get to learn some really interesting music that you probably would never have found on your own. The teachers are really experienced and encouraging and know what they’re doing. They’re people you can trust. It’s just a great place to find your personal music style. ”
“[My kid] LOVED the camp, and it really reignited their enthusiasm for playing music with other people.”
“You guys are all amazing and you’ve changed my life.”
