Redwood Music Kid Camp
July 19th–30th, 2027; 10am–3pm Monday–Friday
A two-week day camp for young musicians ages 7-12
Cost: $600 includes all programming. Campers bring their own lunches.
Early-bird discount: $550 if registered and paid in full by April 1st.
Children learn to play Celtic folk music in a small and supportive environment. They also learn to make their own bamboo flute, and have plenty of play time! Students practice and perform in instrument-specific groups, and with the entire camp. For players of fiddle, flute, penny whistle, recorder, clarinet, harp, autoharp, guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, accordion, keyboards, percussion, Irish tenor banjo, and cello. A final concert will be presented to family and friends on Saturday, July 31st at 10am.
Camp takes place at the Santa Cruz Waldorf School campus, just north of UC Santa Cruz. It is a place designed for kids, with plenty of room to play, and lots of redwoods!
Musical proficiency: Campers should have basic proficiency on their instrument, with a suggested minimum of two years playing experience on violin, and one year's playing experience on other instruments. For more information on the camp, or on playing ability requirements, please email Susan.
