We're changing up our music camp weekend for adult musicians: this year we're focusing in on six instruments (plus singers), and offering full tracks of workshops for each. For players of guitar, flute, whistle, harp, and bodhran, there will be five progressive one-hour workshops over the weekend. This will provide participants the opportunity to take a deep dive into what their instructors have to offer, without the time pressure of having to master each workshop in one hour.
Fiddles will be the exception, where we'll have two instructors, and participants can pick and choose which workshops to take. Here’s the list of workshops planned for both the fiddle and vocal tracks.
Playing abilities: Participants in the fiddle, guitar, harp, and whistle/flute tracks should have at least two years of playing experience. The bodhrán track can accommodate those just starting out, as well as experienced players. (No need to have a bodhrán; we’ll have clean empty pizza boxes that will work.) The voice track is available to anyone who likes to sing!
Saturday night will feature Scottish dance lessons (and the option to play for the dancers), followed by facilitated sessions. Wine and beer are allowed in the dining hall, and there are two venues with no curfew. We'll have several options for overnight lodging, including space for up to 10 tents. There will be ample opportunity for playing music with others, including Saturday afternoon and Sunday after lunch. Come join us for a fabulous weekend of music!
